Starting Salary Range: $34,651 - $43,314 Annually

Youth Development Directors in the YMCA are responsible for providing activities for teens that shape positive values and encourage lifelong commitment to service. Programs are designed to meet the unique needs of the community they serve. In Highline and Auburn, each Youth Development Director will run the Multicultural Achievers program and may also run YMCA Earth Service Corps, Youth & Government, gender specific leadership programs, drop-in recreation programs, late night programs and more.
Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate:
ü Energy and enthusiasm for working with teens
ü Strong facilitation skills
ü Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with youth and adults, including community partners and schools
ü Compassionate and confident leadership and be a strong role model
ü Self-awareness and is able to work in a collaborative setting
ü Strong organizational skills and can give attention to detail
ü Interest and knowledge of positive youth development, service learning, cultural competency and leadership development
ü Two or more years of experience in teen programs
ü Ability to speak any language in addition to English preferred
ü Experience working with diverse cultures
THE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR will be responsible for:
ü Planning, coordinating and evaluating teen programs (meetings, retreats, events)
ü Recruiting and building relationships with young people in programs
ü Effectively communicating information to participants, parents, partners and other YMCA staff
ü Budget management and fundraising
ü Supervision of part time staff and volunteers
ü Identifying and resolving problems to ensure programs are meeting goals and community needs
ü Participating as a full member of the YMCA staff team, including Annual Campaign responsibilities
ü Collaborating effectively with community partners
