Year Up Puget Sound- Enrolling Students Now!

Posted by Brian Kenney at January 09. 2012

Year Up Puget Sound is a one year career training and college credit program located downtown by the Space Needle that serves 18 to 24 year old low-income youth who have a high school diploma or GED and legal right to work in the US.  Our organization began in Boston in 2000 and has now expanded to 9 sights in major cities across the country. Our Seattle office opened for its first class in March 2011. The program provides young adults with 6 months of college level courses around Business Communications, Information Technology and Professional Skills and 6 months of internship experience with our corporate partners such as: Google, REI and Children’s Hospital.  During the entire program students are given a weekly stipend to help support living expenses and at the end they receive 18 hours of college credit, corporate experience and invaluable connections around the community. We are currently enrolling students for our third class which will start in the beginning of March.

Interested students have multiple options; you can fill out a student interest form at our website www.yearup.org, stop by our office any time between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. M-F to fill out a student interest form or call Brian Kenney at either 206-441-4465 ext. 5517 or email him at bkenney@yearup.org. We look forward to meeting you!
