Barista Program Open Houses
Up to Youth Opportunities
Hi Everyone,
This is just a friendly reminder that Barista Program Open Houses will be happening ongoing on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from now on. Please help youth find out about the Open Houses. A flyer is attached. Applications will be passed out at the Open House and there is time during/after for youth to fill them out. **All applicants MUST come to an Open House to be considered for the program!**
This 8-week program hires every FIVE weeks.
Upcoming 2012 Week 0 start dates: February 13th | March 19th | April 23rd
Eligibility:
• 16-24
• Homeless or in unstable housing (this includes couch surfing, occasional shelter nights, and transitional housing)
• Legal to work in the US with supporting documents (a photo ID AND a social security card or birth certificate)
Program Highlights:
• Learn barista and customer service skills
• Get work experience through on-the-job training
• Get support with educational goals such as completing your GED/diploma or enrolling in college
• Build your resume and references
• Have opportunities to participate in paid internships and job shadowing
• Earn money
There are now two Career Coordinators working with the Barista Program. Celeste Goulding will be running alternate cohorts, so you may see either her or myself at Open Houses and during interviews. I will still be the main point of contact for general questions about the Barista Program. Welcome Celeste!
