Do you have an interest in journalism? Do you love taking pictures? Want to see how a newspaper page is published from start to finish? Want to see your byline in The Issaquah Press?
Well, The Beat, the monthly teen page at The Issaquah Press, is the program for you! We are a group of 11 high school students from Skyline, Liberty and Issaquah who gather monthly at Denny's to brainstorm, discuss and write about current stories, events, issues, arts, politics affecting Issaquah youth today and in the future. We've so far published seven community-funded issues and are currently looking to recruit more Skyline, Issaquah, Eastside Catholic, Liberty and Tiger Mountain high school students who are interested in journalism/photojournalism to join our team!
If you are ready to apply, attached is the application. The deadline is September 20th. The Issaquah Press is excited to make The Beat bigger and better, and that means adding more diverse youth voices to our team - YOU!
