Volunteers for Teen Party for Peace

Hey Fellow Youth-Workers,

I’m helping plan an “All City Teen Dance Party for Peace” (sometime in July from 9pm-1am) and we’re trying to recruit some volunteer chaperones.  We don’t yet have a date because we need chaperone’s signed up in order for us to get a permit with the city of Seattle. 

In order for youth to attend the event they have to sign a statement committing to a PEACEFUL and VIOLENCE FREE summer in Seattle.  We’re trying to get chaperone’s who have a vested interest in the safety and well-being of Seattle’s youth.  The target for the event is the largely silent majority of teens that are not engaged in criminal and gang activity in an effort to provide another sphere of influence in their lives through events with positive members of the community and move them away from negative forces.

I have some volunteer forms (our goal is to get at least 10 more volunteers).  Would anyone be interested or know someone who might be interested in volunteering?  E-mail Karly Feria at: feriakp@hsd401.org
