Seeking youth programs serving older teens

The King County Youth Summit 2011 is seeking youth and youth programs to participate in this event. The Summit 2011 will bring together youth in grades 8-12 from throughout King County and will be an afternoon and evening packed with workshops, discussions, a resource fair, food and fun. The goal of the event is increased youth engagement in after school activities. This is a FREE event.

The King County Youth Summit 2011 is a bridge between teens wanting to get involved and actually jumping in, with people and organizations that can show them how.

In addition to participating in the workshop and issue discussions, we invite you to host a table promoting your program at the Resource Fair. We encourage you to staff your table with the people that actually run youth programs and youth that participate in those. It will give interested teens a better sense of those programs and an opportunity to learn about the activities you offer from their peers. The types of programs and organizations that will be represented at the Resource Fair include arts, education, employment, health, international opportunities, refugee & immigrant, leadership, and civic engagement.

We require youth programs in the Resource Fair to have a sign-up sheet for youth to request more information and to give you the opportunity to follow-up with them after the event. We ask that you contact them within a month of the event and again in the fall when they are making plans on how to spend their after school time during the new school year.
