Your Rights Your Life A Resource For Youth inCare

My name is Georgina Ramirez and I am the Region 3 (Skagit/Snohomish County are) and Region 4 (King County Area) Resource Specialist at the Mockingbird Society. The Mockingbird Society is dedicated to improving the current and future lives of the children and youth who rely on the Washington State foster care system. Our mission is to build a world-class foster care system through collaboration, innovation, and advocacy. We are committed to reforming the foster care system by engaging foster care youth and alumni in leadership development and advocacy.

The Mockingbird Network is a statewide network of local Chapters led by youth and alumni of foster and kinship care. As the resource specialist I assist in developing youth and training leaders, strengthening communities, encouraging civic engagement, addressing local and statewide issues affecting children and youth in foster care

 I am trying to do a some leg work for my Region 4 Chapter leaders and find out if community partners who work with youth in care would be interested in a community Know Your Rights Training. The training reviews Youths Rights in the areas of Safety and Well Being, Court Proceedings, Placements and Visitation, Education, Healthcare, and Social Workers responsibilities.
