Grant Opportunity for Programs Serving Homeless Teens

Social Venture Kids (SVK) is the youth grantmaking program of Social Venture Partners.

SVK has chosen to focus their 2010-11 grantmaking cycle on teen homelessness.

We expect to award one or two grants for a total of $10,000.

In response to feedback from past grant applicants, SVK is trying a two-stage grant application process this cycle: Letters of Inquiry (LOI) and then Requests for Proposals (RFP). LOIs will be evaluated and eight organizations will be selected to submit full proposals. After reviewing the proposals, four nonprofits will be selected for site visits. The final one or two grant recipients will be selected in late spring. To help Social Venture Kids close the loop on learning about effective grantmaking, grant recipients are asked to send a progress report to SVK twelve months after receiving the grant.
