The Columbia Tower (on 5th and Columbia) has a Starbuck's on the 40th floor -- the view is pretty cool and free -- nice quite place to take high school students.

In addition, there is a viewing level on the 73rd floor that costs $5 for adults and $3 for students (so not quite free...) that has a spectacular, panoramic view of Seattle/Puget Sound area. It would make a pretty cool field trip!
